Paul's English Choral Experience course at the end of July was the 9th and a great success with Harris's The Hound of Heaven being the star attraction!
July saw the 9th English Choral Experience week take place at Dore Abbey in the heart of Herefordshire's Golden Valley. The main repertoire novelty was the first performance since 1948 of Sir William Harris's major work 'The Hound of Heaven'. This proved to be a great experience for everyone and baritone Philip Lancaster sang the solo part with passion and commitment while Mark Opstad's realisatioin of the orchestral part on the piano was almost superhuman.
A wonderful series of exhibitions, lovely evening events including two moving Compline services and great food all with locally sourced ingredients added to the huge success of the week.
